Brixen
Founded in 901, Brixen is the oldest town in Tyrol. For centuries, the bishopric of Brixen was an influential seat of prince-bishops who were German imperial princes from 1027 to 1803. Several bishops from Brixen have been elected pope throughout history. Today, Brixen shares the seat of the bishop with the provincial capital Bolzano (diocese of Brixen – Bozen).
Brixen offers numerous sights, sports, shopping and entertainment facilities.
Those interested in history, art and culture appreciate the city and its surroundings as much as hikers, cyclists, motorcyclists, skiers and pleasure-seekers.
Plose
In a few minutes by car (7 km) you can reach the cable car of the leisure montain Plose, where you can choose between various circular walks with wonderful panoramic views, such as the Brixen High Level Path, Three Summit Tour, Dolomites Panorama Path. On the WoodyWalk there are exciting discovery possibilities for children. The Lorggen Adventure Trail is an interesting nature experience for young and old.
In the Brixen Bike Park on the Plose, mountain bikers can compete at different levels of difficulty. If you feel like it, you can ride down the 9 km long track from the top station of the Plose cable car to the valley station with the mountain carts.
In winter Plose offers cleared winter hiking trails to the Rossalm and the Skihütte. Winter hikers and snowshoe trekkers are rewarded with an impressive view of the Dolomites.
Skiers and snowboarders enjoy a breathtaking view of the imposing Dolomites on 40 km of pistes. For experienced skiers the Trametsch, South Tyrol’s longest valley run, is an absolute highlight.
The 9 km long RudiRun toboggan run fascinates young and old, families and couples.
Since 2009 the Dolomites are UNESCO World Natural Heritage! They are considered the most beautiful mountains in the world!
Acquarena
In 5 to 10 minutes walking distance from our house you can reach the Acquarena, an adventure pool with indoor and outdoor pools, sauna and fitness.
Forum Brixen
From our hotel to the Forum you need 3 minutes on foot. The Forum Brixen is a cultural and congress centre, meeting and event location.
Monastery Neustift
Das Augustiner Chorherrenstift Neustift ist eines der bedeutendsten Klöster im gesamten Tiroler Raum. Es liegt 3 km nördlich von Brixen. The Augustinian Canon’s Monastery of Neustift is one of the most important monasteries in the entire Tyrolean region. It lies 3 km north of Brixen. Take a leisurely walk to Neustift directly from our hotel along the Eisack dam and visit the baroque church, the magnificent library with its valuable collection of manuscripts and the Stiftskellerei for a wine tasting!
